NCCDP announces Alzheimer's and dementia Staff Education Week; new Dementia Managers Certification

   The National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP) declares Feb. 14-21 as Alzheimer's and Dementia Staff Education Week.
   In honor of this week, the NCCDP will provide through their web site complimentary Power Point in-services, fun things to incorporate in the week- long training, promotional items, plus additional resources.  The information will be available beginning December 15th at www.nccdp.org.
    The NCCDP recognizes not only the need for comprehensive dementia training but certification for all line staff as Certified Dementia Practitioners CDP, and In-service Directors and Nurse Educators are encouraged to become NCCDP Alzheimer's and Dementia training. 
    Additionally, the NCCDP announces that it has launched a new certification and training for Dementia Unit Managers called Certified Dementia Care Managers (CDCM.)
